Drug Information Specialist – Toxicologist

PROSAR Drug Safety Call Center is located in St. Paul, MN. We are a leading provider of drug safety call center services to the pharmaceutical and dietary supplement industries. PROSAR provides a complete post-marketing surveillance program including adverse event processing, medical information services, product complaint documentation and safety reporting to FDA.

Basic Position Functions

Manage health and safety calls providing product information to consumers, end users and healthcare professionals. Document calls completely and accurately. Notify appropriate staff as outlined in the notification guidelines. No patient specific diagnostic advice or treatment should be provided to callers.

Duties:

  • Answer the telephone at the call center
  • Respond with appropriate information based on client specifications
  • Document adverse event and information calls for manufacturers
  • Provide Drug Information for pharmaceutical and health & nutrition manufacturers
  • Discuss health and safety issues with consumers, workers, and health care professionals
  • Handle calls involving both animals and humans
  • Obtain demographic data on the caller/patient
  • Follow up with callers to assure no further health concerns
  • Serve as a resource to the IS staff
  • Notify Lead Tox, Med Tox, and Vet Tox about cases as outlined in the notification guidelines
  • Watch for trends involving new products or new issues with existing products
  • Participate in training of new staff
  • Stay up to date on continuing education that is offered
  • Help to develop continuing education program
  • Develop and present new client product training

Degree Requirements

  • RN, RPh, Pharm D., MD, DVM or equivalent

Licensure Required

  • MN License appropriate with degree or equivalent from another state or country must be maintained

Years of Experience Required

  • Three
